The story is predictable, but the plot isn't too bad. What is, though, is the author's poor understanding of the proper use of subjective, objective, and relative pronouns. That was nearly enough to make me stop reading. However, I did manage to finish the book. I would not read the book again, as I often do with works that have better English usage.Product details

Its truly one of the best books I've read in a long time really enjoyed the story-line behind the characters here. I have found a new author for my must read list! This story and characters are well thought out and very in-depth, its easy to dive into a good book when the author puts passion and thought into works like this one! I found myself clearing half my day just to read it from beginning to end!
Very touching. Highly recommended read! All in all A great read. Will be reading this one again.

The book is not bad. It's just extremely slow and boring. The prince never feels the fated mate feeling. So that sucks. There is just better books to read.
I was so excited to see a new book from this author, as it had been several months since the last one. It met all my expectations and more! I loved the entire world these characters lived in, as well as the characters themselves. Hope Kytes's book will come out soon!
I wasn't sure about this book when I down loaded it because I had read a few of the reviews. I decided to give it a try and found it to be a delightful read. Although early on I had a pretty good idea of what was going on with Prince James it was still a few surprises and I enjoyed how it played out.
This is a fresh take on fated mates what if only one of them realizes it? I was growing just as frustrated as Will (a credit to the writing) as I was trying to guess what was wrong with James and their mating match. While I had some suspicions early on, the full situation isn't made apparent until a quite dramatic scene with a twist or two. I thought Alex's device for giving Will and James a chance to get to know each other to be clever and enjoyed the way their relationship progressed. While there's just a hint of the omega heat, there are a number of sexy scenes to spice things up. This is not a true mpreg although there is a mention of omega pregnancy. The epilogue is quite sweet (with a tidbit that may lead to a later story?). A good start to a new series.

Dear Alex Ashmore I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed your book, the first story in the Norvargen pack. I didn't know what to expect. I had selected this book as one of my Unlimited 10 when it was first released. I'm so sorry I did not read it sooner. I chose it on a whim last night. It is everything I wished for and then some.
I eagerly await the next in the series - a preview of which is at the end of this story. If you enjoy Omega stories with strong Omegas this story is for you. Do you believe in love at first sight or Fated Mates read this book? There is eventually a HEA, but the road to it is very rocky and full of craters sized potholes.
An idealistic young man, Will helps his father run at large Inn known for its hospitality, excellent service, and ability to serve any size crowd of residents. Many in the village of Wolf shifters work there, especially when extra help is needed such as a visit from the Royal Alpha family and the Prince / First Son's Omega fiance from the neighboring Redfang pack. An Alliance had been drawn up and the marriage already arranged by both sets of parents, they all planned to converge on the Inn over the next couple weeks.
Will has been having having dreams / premonitions that he'd soon meet his Fated Mate. He was reluctant to share this information, because of the fear of ridicule from his best friend and Pa. His deceased Ma had regaled him with stories of finding her Fated Mate, his Pa. An actually rare occurrence. He feels compelled to reread some of the books his Ma marked up. Needing the comfort and confirmation of her own words.
When his eyes fell on the First Prince - Will knew immediately that he had seen his Fated Mate. Every symptom described by his Ma he felt tenfold. It would have been amazing if the Prince reciprocated and not looked right thru him.
Despite his fears he had to tell his Pa and best friend, because they saw how sad & withdrawn Will had become. They each gave him opportunities to be alone with the Prince, to see if there was any sparkle of Fated Mate recognition? But alas it did not. When Prince James's beautiful, sophisticated fiance from the Redfang pack arrived, it depressed Will even more. How could he ever hope to compete with the likes of Prince Dachel? His mate certainly deserved more than his country bumpkin self.
A bout of severe illness to both Princes families led Will to accompany the Norvargen entourage to the far western edges of the Alpha's territory. They spoke a different language, one Will knew from his mother who had traveled east and found her Fated Mate. Everyone is not happy with the arrangement, but neither could it be stopped. The several week trip sanctioned by his Pa was Will's last chance to see if the Prince recognized him as his Fated Mate
The trip is very eventful. There is the beginning of a friendship, segregation - the Royals and the servants, which is where Will was relegated. The Advisors appeared to be running things. No one had anything nice to say about them. Will's ability to translate was instrumental to the success of the Alpha Prince's visit to the far western territories. As the trip continues and concludes there is intrigue, intimacy, revelations, announcements, fighting, masking, unmasking, and of course a Happily Ever After. Thanks again Alex Ashmore for a wonderful tale. I eagerly await the second in the series.
