In the ancient mountains of the Sinai desert, a child is born. The half-demon son of the devil’s greatest general, Malachi grows up with one foot in the human world and one in the darkest pits of Hell itself. Soon, a power struggle will force him to choose. Will he claim the dark heritage promised to him by Lucifer? Or will he learn firsthand just how far evil will go to destroy mankind? Caleb Glass is a young priest with a flourishing flock and a successful church. Plagued by strange visions and a tragic past, he’s also beginning to question his faith. When he’s suddenly thrust into an ancient feud, Caleb must decide whether wearing the collar is a part of God's plan, or an excuse to hide from his pain. Is it possible for a broken priest and a sand dweller to achieve redemption, or are they both doomed by circumstance beyond their control?

I am a total sucker for a story that crosses time periods. In that regard, this was an interesting read, watching Malachi through the ages. I was a little confused by the constant head-hopping perspective, and some of the conversations took sudden turns that didn't always make sense. The book could definitely use another line edit (spelling and punctuation were in need of correction), but the text layout was nice and neat and easy to read. I didn't quite follow Malachi's sudden urgency to be baptized on that particular day and by Father Glass, and there were several questions left unanswered (though weren't necessarily crucial to the story), but the fact that Malachi was not only willing but ultimately able to overcome his struggles made for a good story. Overall, an enjoyable read of Good conquering Evil and man's internal struggle between his good and evil aspects.Product details

The Sand Dweller Molly Neely Books Reviews
A demonic hero struggles across the years to save his soul. An epic journey with fast paced action that ties mythical characters and religious figures into an amazing story.
Is there any good left in a demon from hell? Could he sire a half human boy that will succeed in gaining forgiveness and redemption? Get a copy of this awesome book to find out!
From the moment I began reading the Sand Dweller I wanted more. It is captivating tale of Malachi's quest to become more than he was born into. The story is woven with a balance of history, theology, and great story telling. It was a fast pace read. I wanted to know more about all the characters. I wanted more of the story. I wasn't ready for the end. But it looks as though the author has set it up for a sequel. I would keep your eyes open for MORE to come from Molly Neely.
I had a great time reading through this book. The story follows Malchi, the immortal half breed son of a human and a demon on his physical and spiritual journey to find salvation. The author blends spiritual concepts with ancient myths flawlessly to create a very compelling story. The writing is excellent, and the characters are relatable. I would suggest this book to anybody searching for a great paranormal book to read.
I really enjoyed this captivating page-turner. The narrative is a mixture of biblical, mythical, historical, and contemporary. There are some expectations that Moly Neely sets up, only to move the reader in other novel directions; I love this kind of storytelling. The writing is tight and strong. The characters have depth and relatability. I strongly recommend this book!
There was one thing I didn't like about The Sand Dweller....it ended. I wanted more! The story was fascinating from the very first sentence. I was kept interested due to the excellent way Molly Nelly describes her characters, to the point that you feel you know them. Ra is hateful in his quest to bring Malachi to his demon father. Malachi himself is strong in his beliefs and I wound up rooting for him. The references to biblical figures adds an awesome factor to the story. Please Molly, write a sequel!!
Malachi, the son of a demon, Azazael, and Ra, the son of Lilith, are locked in an eternal battle for dominance throughout the history of mankind, but the only thing Malachi desires is peace and freedom from evil.
Caleb is a young priest who must help the immortal Malachi escape his fate. This could be dangerous for both of them, and Ms. Neely does an outstanding job of taking us through the ages. I enjoy reading anything with an historic flair, and she does not disappoint as the reader is given a tour of many different
The Sand Dweller is an easy read, and well suited for those who prefer the Christian genre.
What an amazing story. Even though I read some of the reviews before getting the book, I still wasn't exactly sure what kind of story I'd be reading. Well, now I know what kind--an amazing one. A half-breed demon, Malachi, wants to renounce his demonic father's ways and follow in the footsteps of the only person who was willing to take him in and love him. He spends the rest of his days searching for the God of his adopted father. But another half-breed, Ra, is at every turn to torment him, trying to convince him to renounce his quest and take his place in Hell's army where he belongs. This is a story about faith, about discovery, about dealing with and overcoming your past and working towards a future that is uncertain. It spans many centuries with quarreling demons, Heavenly Hosts, Egypt, Israel, the Pharoah, the Messiah, Adam's first wife, Lillith...and a priest who is unsure of his calling. How does it all come together? You'll have to read the story. And you won't be disappointed.
